Feed Our Neighbors! COVID-19 and recent storms!

As an Uber driver in the Chattanooga area, I see firsthand how COVID-19 has, and continues to impact our community. We now also have many people either displaced from their homes or still without power due to the horrible storms and tornado we just experienced. I'm donating 50% of all of my Uber tips from each week here. Over the past 3 weeks I've donated over $420 from driving for Uber. Others have donated as well, and I hope you can help too. As you see pictures of empty store shelves, remember 1 in 8 people overall – including 1 in 5 children – face hunger in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia. Stocking up isn’t possible for them when putting food on the table is a daily struggle. The Chattanooga Area Food Bank is preparing for a possible 30% increase in the need for our services and anticipate an additional cost of up to $100,000 every month to cover the growing need caused by the coronavirus and the economic impact that will follow.

A movement led by the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, Operation Feed Our Neighbors will address this critical need, but only with the support of the community through gifts of financial donations and volunteer time. $1 helps provide 4 meals and every dollar donated, 95 cents goes straight to food and programs.

The COVID-19 pandemic is changing the way we live. We all feel more vulnerable than ever as we see how intertwined our society is.
