In the Chattanooga Area Food Bank's 20-county service area of Southeast Tennessee and
Northwest Georgia, up to 1 in 5 people overall and more than 1 in 4 children
could face hunger due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They initially experienced a 30% increase in the need for their services. They are now shifting their focus to prepare for providing long-term assistance to thousands of people affected by the pandemic’s economic impact for months or years to come.
A movement led by the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, Operation Feed Our Neighbors will address this critical need, but only with the support of the community through gifts of financial donations and volunteer time. $1 helps provide 4 meals and of every dollar donated, 95 cents goes straight to food and programs.
The COVID-19 pandemic is changing the way we live. We all feel more vulnerable than ever as we see how intertwined our society is.
